2022-06-18 12:00 – 2022-06-19 12:00
Mark your calendar for the premier sailing cruise of the year! Yes, it is the return of the Summer Sailstice on June 18/19. It is held on the weekend nearest to the Summer Solstice, the longest daylight of the year. Check out their website for more info - https://summersailstice.com.   Grills no longer has their south beach area with the canopy and tables where we used to meet for drinks and dinner, so it’s Plan B. Which is, start gathering at the outside bar around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday June 18 and then head in for dinner at 5:30 p.m. Sunday morning is breakfast at 8:00 a.m. for those who anchor out or would like to join us. Marker 21 Cruise - Saturday-Sunday, April 23-24, 2022
2022-04-23 12:00 – 2022-04-24 12:00
April is a great month for sailing in our area, not too hot yet, and not too many thunderstorms. So let's take advantage of Florida in springtime to sail down to spoil island "BC37" near Marker 21 in the Indian River. The best anchoring is near 27 59' 27.13" N, 80 32' 37.79" W. We will gather on Saturday for grilling ashore -- bring your own food, beverages, plates, utensils, and a dinghy to get to shore. No set time for anything, as uninhabited islands have no schedules! If you would prefer to drive to the event ... well, sorry landlubbers, this one is accessible by boat only -- So no excuses! Forecast calling for easterly winds both days, which is about ideal for a beam reach, so let's hope the prediction holds.
