Only the brave cruise to the "Frostbite"!  We haven't had many boats cruise to Ballard in a few years.  You're always welcome to come and anchor up in the harbor behind Ballard and dinghy in (if you're brave). It is a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends, participate in a fruitful discussion on a cruising destination or a new piece of gear, and have a lot of fun.  ECSA helps out by volunteering in the snack bar, passing out lunches, setting up the banquet dinner, and other ways in which we show our hospitality to our visiting boaters. *** Special Note *** We still need a few volunteers to help set up tables and chairs for the Saturday evening banquet.  If you can come Saturday afternoon around 4:15 that would be a big help !  ***  Please let Joe Coleman know: odysseytraining@hotmail.com Here is a link to the schedule of events for all four days (Opens in new window): https://www.ssca.org/docs.ashx?id=436818 Special note: Events on Thursday and Sunday are free and open to the public: Thursday, November 8 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. we fill the south meeting room at the Eau Gallie Public Library for the *free* "Heading South" group discussion forum.  If you are thinking about traveling to, or have recently traveled to, the Keys, Bahamas, or Caribbean, this should be a very worthwhile event.  We learn from other sailors who have gone there, and inform others of our own experiences.  Come early to get a seat -- the room fills up fast!  Following the event, we head next door to Squid Lips for dinner, live music, and more fascinating chit-chat with our fellow mariners. July 4th Cruise to Cocoa Village for Fireworks (4-5 July)
Cocoa Village Marina
2018-07-04 16:00 – 2018-07-05 12:00
Join us on the 4th of July for the annual cruise to Cocoa Village to observe the fireworks display over the Indian River.  You can anchor out, rent a slip at Cocoa Village Marina, or come by car.  We will be providing hot coals and a grill for you to demonstrate your culinary skill at a pot luck dinner in the marina clubhouse.  Bring your main entree and drinks and a side dish to share with the group.  Like last year we will share the clubhouse with the Eau Gallie Yacht Club, but there should be plenty of room for both groups to have a relaxing time and enjoy dinner.  At dusk, we will adjourn to the main dock to set up our chairs to watch the fireworks.  Breakfast will be on Thursday, July 5th at Ossorio's at 9:00 AM.  If you come by car, please park in the large lot in front of the clubhouse and not in the covered parking area.   Try to make your slip reservations as early as possible (phone # 321-632-5445) and let them know you are with ECSA.  The dockmaster reports a surprising level of interest in reserving slips for the fireworks, and advises us to reserve slips as soon as possible if planning to attend by boat.  Please email Bob (rwiley1@cfl.rr.com) that you are planning to attend.
